Is Adipex safe?

Adipex, like any other pharmaceutical, may cause adverse reactions in your body and Gate Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of the drug in the US, confirms this fact and indicates a range of side effects in the insert.

Thus, the list of adverse reactions includes the following effects: pulmonary primary pulmonary hypertension, valvular heart disease, palpitation, tachycardia, elevated blood pressure, hypersensitivity, dizziness, insomnia, mood change, tremor, headache, driness of the mouth, unpleasant taste, diarrhea, urticaria, impotence, and changes in libido.

However, taking into account the post-marketing studies of phentermine and the study conducted by Korean researches in 2006, The Effect of Short-term Use of Phentermine, claim that there’s a good number of other adverse reactions manifested in low-frequency cases.

Selfsame, in the Korean study neither the manifestations of tremor, nor the cases of diarrhea were reported by the participants.

In the same study there was no single report on the significant changes of potency in males, while itching in a small group of patients couldn’t be classified as a side effect because of a quick and complete recovery on the next visit. In general, the prevalence of any frequent side effect was at least 5% higher in the phentermine group vs placebo one.

Importantly, throughout the entire course of study lasted for 12 weeks and 2 weeks run-in, only a few cases of significant adverse reactions were registered, which represented no statistical significance.

The research didn’t reveal the presence of a withdrawal syndrome: 50% of participants that completed the research, representing both placebo and phentermine groups, reported to the researchers 6 weeks after the completion of the study – no single case of a withdrawal syndrome was registered.

The data gathered from various sources enables to make a conclusion that Adipex is a relatively safe drug to use. There is no clinical evidence on lethal cases caused by phentermine treatment, with the exception of those ones where overdose was the cause.
